Hot Girls Like Art

Hot Girls Like Art is a forever project by conceptual artist Russ Jones, based in London.

It began in 2024 as a counterpoint to the way fashion and social media define and control beauty to increase profits through their platforms, narrowing desirability down to a visual commodity that they control.

The project offers an alternative perspective to beauty.

Hot isn’t solely a visual quality. It also represents how well you know yourself. How deeply you’re willing to explore your own taste, curiosity, and capacity to transform. Beauty isn’t something you copy visually, it’s something you uncover through exploration, through art.

Each Sunday, a long-form newsletter goes out: part research, part story, part reflection. It’s where I share what I’m working on, what I’m noticing, and why any of it matters. If you connect with my work, this is the best place to understand why I make what I make.
