This week I’m trying to figure out how to make some big jumps, hopefully, you want to take them with me.

Jumping is scary, but staying still is worse

I’m never sure if I’m supposed to be useful.

Art is one of those aspects of life that permits the individual to redefine how they live as an example of what happens if you do certain unusual things.

Some focus on the craftsmanship and creativity of manufacturing items, while others focus on the conceptual side of art, letting the items they make along the way show the path. neither of these types of artist have any requirement to be useful to anyone else.

So should I?

Should anyone?

What if just being is enough?

It halts me in my tracks, it makes me fear creating and it throws me into a spiral where I begin to question all of those things that modern life puts in front of us daily - Am I useful, am I valued, am I important.

Today, I’m not.

And that’s kind of freeing.

With that weight off my back, I think I’m ready to try and do something I think is important. For me.

The Vogue Mirrors were an attempt to create an experience that allows the viewer to build a different relationship with themselves by seeing themselves from a different perspective.

Unfortunately, due to copyright infringement - they’re going to be very hard for everyone to get.

My challenge now is to make a mirror that makes you feel better than being on the cover of Vogue.

That’s what this week’s Installation is all about.

Vogue and magazine covers are all about promoting the governing aesthetic of a given socio-economic ethnic group. It’s not that different from the Mean Girls wearing Pink on Fridays. it promotes

This next Installation is about valuing something else, how willing someone is to have fun, someone’s ability to jump into life and enjoy it.

It’s out this Saturday on the Kings Road from 11:11 AM

Can I just change my mind?

I’ve been overwhelmed with how much demand I had for the Mirrors so far, we sold out everything within a day every time. However, when I went through the data, I saw that about 5x more people went to the site than buyers.

I don’t know if this is right, but I think it has to do with price.

Pricing in Art is tough, yesterday someone came into the studio that I didn’t expect and saw a painting on my wall that sells for around £18k. They sent me an offer last night for less than this that I had to refuse.

I don’t want to let go of it for less for three reasons.

1. I have similar paintings in homes in London that paid similar prices and I don’t want their prices to drop

2. I like it

3. I’m stubborn

But the mirrors were never meant to be an Item I make, and the installations were never meant to make any revenue… So I had a deep talk with my inner child and I think I have a good idea.

Over the next 12 months, I’m going to subsidize the Mini-Mirrors and make them available in a larger volume. Think of them as the best prints available to art lovers in the world.

The first edition be available at £5(~$6) and will be marked First Edition and will be limited in number. The rest will be available at £10(~$12)

They will be A5 and a Mini Version of the Mirror Installation of that month.
