HGLA #97 - Thirst Trap
doing something fun, come say hi.
Big heavy words.
looks like poem.
But,
not quite.
Why?
We see when something is masquerading as something it’s not.
Sometimes,
that’s part of the appeal.
There’s an honesty in it.
About being open,
about presenting ourselves differently.
Like a Halloween costume, that goes too far.
There’s a honest vulnerability in it.
Equally.
As a viewer.
The ongoing experience,
of understanding camouflage
is comforting.
Maybe that’s a feeling worth exploring?
That perception
of some hidden danger.
The hidden being revealed.
Often it’s hidden behind beauty.
Or presented as something desirable.
The closer we allow ourselves to get, the more we risk.
Equally, the more we understand it’s shape,
the less risk we have going forward.
Knowing the magic trick means it has less effect.
Subversion launches this Wednesday
11 am outside Frieze.
It’s on until Thursday (or when we run out)
I haven’t attempted something like this before.
And I’m sure things will go wrong.
But I’m really confident in the idea, the team, and the product.
It’s another chance to experience something fun from my world.
